Yeray and Pierre @ shark island

According to the IBA, Yeray Martinez(photo) from the canary islands and Pierre Costes from France will be the two of the wildcards at the Shark island challenge this year. This way both riders will enter directly at the main event in the island itself. Yeray has allready confirmed his presence there, and Pierre who allready lived in Australia for a while should attend too. All eyes are on you, good luck! Frame: Quemao challenge.
wave pool in Tenerife?

It seems that a new mega park in Tenerife called
Siampark will be built real soon. But real news is that according to the project it will include a wave pool. How cool is that? For the meantime check out how the flowrider level is reaching an unbelievable level in South Africa.

Alistair takes the Cave rock gladiator.

Alistair Taylor was the winner of the first ever Cave Rock gladiator, a international competition in South Africa held at the wave of Cave rock. Among others were present Alistair, Spencer Skipper, Ross MCbride, Sasha specker and all the best south africans. The plan is that this event can be a supertour event on next years to come.
Women world tour: Ingles Pro - australia

The euro girls just did some fuss in Australia at the Ingles Pro, a international feminine bodyboard event held at surfers paradise beach. Present were all the big names from the bodyboarding world such as world champions Neymara Carvalho, Daniela Freitas and Soraia Rocha. Marina Taylor(photo) from the canary islands finished second, Eunate Aguirre from Spain came in Third, and Heloise Burroux of guadeloupe(fra) finished the final at fourth place. The winner was brazilian Stephanie Petterson who lives in Australia now. This looks like a bright year for a Womans bodyboarding in Europe, with such great level we can surely dream for a european world champion.

USA back from the dead

Bodyboarding in the united states seems to be back on track after a long period where it went from a sport for the masses to practically underground. This is the cover of the new

Movement USA featuring Spencer Skipper. Also announced was the revival of the national tour, by the hand of bodyboarder Jason Bitzer. With such exposure increasing, we can only hope that bb in the US gets the place it deserves there.
New Brand on the block - UNIQ

Former world champion Stephanie Petterson(photo) has launched a new bodyboard brand, Uniq bodyboards. Regarded as one of the best female bodyboarders ever, Stephanie has joined her experience with shaper Nick Mez to draw a special line of bodyboards for women. She is currently living in Australia, pushing the female level there, and will participate this year in some world tour events, as well as some bodyboarding trips. source: abbctour.net

world tour - new dates

Things are going well for the new technical director for the IBA- Francisco Garritano. There are allready
27 scheduled events for this year, including 3 new champs in Japan! It's the case to tell, why didnt you came earlier Francisco. The international rated events(more than 10.000US$) will be the following:
- Arica, Chile. June 1-12
- Sharkisland, Australia. June 27 to July 31
- Sintra, Portugal. August23 - 27
- Las Palmas, Canarias. November
- Honolua, Hawaii. January
- Pipeline, Hawaii. January

Pride bodyboards, has launched a new redesigned web site for all the fans and curious out there. Among other things you can check their awsome team, one of the biggest in Europe, and exclusive photos of the biggest day at fronton this winter.

Two of the best portuguese bodyboarders have joined efforts to make a bodyboard school.
We're talking about Paulo "paulinho" Costa, and Nuno "batata" Leitão and the school's name will be
pure emocean bodyboarding school. If you live around Lisbon and you're looking to a good start in bodyboard or want some professional tips, look for it!
There will be a huge launching party in the 12th of april in Lisbon, with bb films, live sound and all the usual madness..If you want to check it take a look at the flyer(photo).

Aquino wins Rio BB pro

Brasilian Legend Fabio Aquino, took out the best pros in Brazil to win the 1rst event of the Rio bb pro.
Fabio Aquino(in the photo at Teahupoo) 34 years old and allready a father of 2 children, proved to still be one of the best when it comes to drawing beatifull clean lines in a wave.
Former world tour top Fabio retreated from the competitions after the end of the GOB, but now claims to be more motivated than ever to bodyboarding. He is also a successfull businessman and he is even trying to candidate to a place as state deputy!
Talent never dies, congratulations Fabio!

Portugal winter session - Ivo Mochacho

Once pointed as
the best bodyboarder in Portugal, Ivo Mochacho has kept a low profile, and his incredible freesurfing performances were only shared by a couple of friends.
