SALTDAYS- EUROPE

EUROPEAN BODYBOARD. saltdays@gmail.com

hardy takes the lead

The world tour ranking goes as it follows: 1st place for Ryan Hardy after winning the sharkisland contest and a couple of regional events. Ryan is looking really strong this year but all the pressure will come up to him in the next events. Best European on the tour is none but Yeray Martinez(8th) from Canary islands. 2nd best is Hugo Pinheiro from Portugal that managed to stay in the top 16. Next international event will be Europe's own Sintra pro in Portugal, so we can all predict some serious battling in atlantic waters. In the pic, the current world champion Ben Player.

this is Jon Pena from Spain busting as high as it's possible on a boogie, dont know who's the photographer tough. F@ck yeah!

yeray standout of the day at SIC

Check out the press release from the first day of the sharkisland contest: "Stand out of the day would have to be Yeray Martinez from the Canary Islands, Martinez ripped apart section after section treating what most regard as one of the worlds most challenging and dangerous waves like a sand bottom beach break. "To surf at Shark Island is like a dream, I have always wanted to surf this heavy wave because we have similar heavy waves like Shark Island in the Canaries. I come here with nothing to lose so I am very happy.""
Amazing performance for yeray(photo)! Unfortunately other euros Hugo Pinheiro and Pierre Costes got knocked out on the first round and Cedric Dufaure is recovering from a injury, so it's all on yeray for now. You can check some other photos of yeray martinez competing at lpsurfsite

sharkisland news

The waiting period for the shark island contest has begun. All to do now is wait for an epic swell so that the event can go off. Present there and enjoying australia is Yeray Martinez(photo) that was selected as wildcard for the competition. Along with him are also photographer Tony mateo and videomans Alejandros Barbosa and Ramirez, that will document the whole thing, so we can surely expect some nice images from the europeans there. Other news is that Cedric Dufaure injured himself in the shoulder at indo and Uri Valadão has some problems at the knee from the Rio world event. All the best for all, and good luck for the competitors.
